Online teleprompter

Paste your script, hit start and read off the screen while the camera rolls. Runs in the browser on your phone or laptop, no sign-up, nothing to install.

48Speed
52Font

Space or tap plays and pauses. Arrows change speed. R rewinds. Esc exits.

How it works

  1. 1

    Paste your script

Notes, a post, an email draft: anything works. Paragraphs and blank lines are kept.

  2. 2

    Make it yours

Speed and font size adjust on the fly; mirror mode flips the text for beam-splitter rigs.

  3. 3

    Hit start and record

The text scrolls by itself and the line a third down the screen marks where to look. Tap to pause, drag to scrub.

How to read a teleprompter without looking like it

  • Keep the text by the lens

The further the line sits from the camera, the more your eyes travel. Put the screen right under the lens, make the font bigger and the column narrower.

  • Match the scroll to your pace

Read a paragraph aloud for one minute without the prompter and count the words. Most recorded speech sounds confident at 130-145 words per minute; start the scroll a little slower.

  • Speak on the reading line

Say each line as it reaches the line a third of the way down. Reading ahead means the scroll is too slow; waiting means it is too fast.

  • Write the pauses in

A blank line in your script is a breath: paragraphs are kept. A 30-second clip holds about 65-72 words at that pace, so trim the script instead of speeding up.

FAQ

Is this teleprompter really free?

Yes. No sign-up and no payment: the whole page runs in your browser.

How do I read the script if I film on the same phone?

The prompter shows the text but does not record video. The easiest setup is a second device next to the camera: paste the script on a laptop and send it to a phone or tablet with the QR code.

How do I get the script onto my phone?

Scan the QR code with your phone camera or copy the link. The script is packed into the link itself and never leaves your device: the page has no server.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, in any modern browser, including Safari and Chrome. Speed and font size adjust while it scrolls.

How do I save a script for later?

Press Copy link and keep the link in your notes or bookmarks. Opening it brings the script back exactly as it was.

What is mirror mode for?

For beam-splitter rigs with glass in front of the lens: the glass reflects the screen, so the text has to be flipped.
