Monty vs Reelyze: a report on your reel, or the reel itself

Reelyze and Monty end up in the same tool round-ups, yet they solve opposite halves of one job. Reelyze looks at a reel you already posted and explains why it underperformed. Monty makes the reel and posts it. The difference is not quality, it is which step of the process the tool joins.

What Reelyze does

Reelyze breaks a vertical video down frame by frame: it scores the hook in the opening seconds, checks pacing, on-screen text and audio, and shows the second where viewers drop off. It also tracks competitors in your niche, surfaces videos that are taking off, and drafts scripts based on what worked for them. A chat coach answers questions using your own account data.

What Monty does

Monty starts where you have a clip you already filmed and ends at a published post. It writes the script in your voice, cuts pauses and bad takes, times captions to your speech, picks music, cuts in b-roll, builds a version per platform and posts to YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok and Telegram. Keep approval before each post, or switch on autopilot.

The rules a analyser reports on are, for us, constraints at build time rather than findings after the fact. The hook has to land in the opening seconds, captions have to read with the sound off, line length is capped, platform-interface safe zones are respected. A reel that breaks those rules simply does not get assembled that way.

Where those rules come from

Being specific here, because this niche is full of "trained on a million videos" claims with nothing behind them. We have two sources and both can be checked.

• Our own study of what a strong short video looks like across 15 axes, from hook and retention to loudness and typography. It is a synthesis of published breakdowns, creator case studies and platform retention data from 2024-2026, not a literal viewing of a thousand reels, and we say so plainly.
• The hundreds of reels the engine has already produced for our own channels. Monty grew out of an internal tool: it made our content first and became a product second.

Pricing

The tiers line up almost exactly, which is normal for this category. Reelyze figures are from their site on 31 July 2026, ours from our own pricing page.

The middle row is the interesting one. At Pro both cost $49. For that money Reelyze analyses 60 reels you already published, Monty builds and posts 30 new ones. A report tells you what to change; a finished reel is the change.

At the entry tier we are the more expensive one, $29 against $19. That gap is real and it is explainable. An analysis is text and numbers, so its marginal cost is close to zero. A video means transcription, rendering, music, storage and uploads, which is machine time per unit.

What you actually get

Which one fits you

Take Reelyze if you already post regularly, you have a back catalogue, and your question is "why did this one work and that one didn't". Diagnosis against your own numbers instead of generic advice is genuinely useful, and Monty does not do it.

Take Monty if the bottleneck is production rather than understanding: you filmed on a phone and never got around to editing, posting, then repeating it in four places. Analysing published reels does not help there, because there are no reels yet.
